QORICANCHA

Temple of the Sun What is its location? The Coricancha temple is located at the intersection of El Sol Avenue and Santo Domingo Street, two blocks from the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, in Peru. What are the opening hours? From Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm, you can stay for a maximum of one hour and you can access the green area of the Qoricancha. How much does the entrance fee cost? Admission is included in the tourist ticket and this ticket costs 70 soles. What can be observed? You can observe:

What is its history? It was looted in the 16th century and a religious order took over the construction of a Catholic temple to replace its gods and beliefs; however, in 1650 it suffered severe damage after the earthquake and the same thing happened in 1950, this is how it was renovated.

SACSAYHUAMAN

Inca Fortress What is its location and altitude? Sacsayhuaman is located 2 kilometers north of the Plaza de Armas of Cusco. And it is located 3,700 meters above sea level (m.s.n.m.). Which has an area of more than 3 thousand hectares. What is its meaning? Its name means “place where the falcon is satiated”, its name is due to the presence of the animal and it is thought that it was a ceremonial center; the Spanish are the ones who give it the name of fortress for its military image. What can be seen in Sacsayhuaman?

You can see a spectacular view of Cusco, a peculiar view that cannot be seen from other sides of Cusco.
You can see the summit of Ausangate, Pachatusan and Cunca.
You can see the very amazing structure.

What is its history? It was built during the government of the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th century, more than 20 thousand men participated in its construction. Currently only 40% of the original construction is preserved.

QENQO

Ceremonial Center What is its location and altitude? It is located just 4 kilometers from the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, on the well-known Cerro Socorro, which is at an altitude of 3,580 meters above sea level and has an area of 3,500 square meters. What season to visit it? The best time is in the dry season, which is from the months of April to October, where there are hot days and the nights are cold.

The guide will explain the architectural details and the unique fusion between the Inca and colonial culture.

🗿 We visit Sacsayhuamán
We will continue to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuamán, one of the most grandiose architectural achievements of the Inca Empire. We will be amazed by its enormous perfectly fitted stone blocks, some weighing more than 100 tons. The guide will share stories about its construction, defensive purpose and its role in traditional Andean ceremonies.

🪨 Then we visit Qenqo
We will explore the fascinating ceremonial center of Qenqo, an archaeological site carved into a single giant limestone. We will discover its labyrinths, canals, tombs and the famous amphitheater, while our guide explains the ritual practices and ceremonies that took place in this mysterious sacred place.
