BALCONY OF THE DEVIL HIKE – FULL DAY

The Balcony of the Devil is located northeast, 20 minutes from the city of Cusco, at an altitude of 3800 meters above sea level. It is one of many hikes near the city of Cusco, in fact on this hike you can enjoy the cultural evidence. Moreover, in the middle of the Andean nature. We visit Balcon del Diablo – Cave of the Balcon del Diablo – Temple of the Moon – Temple of the Monkeys (Kusilluchayoq).

Tour Description

Adventure and culture The balcony of the devil, also called in the Quechua language Chakan, which means Bridge. Likewise, the balcony has a height of 10 m, which is composed of granite and limestone minerals, and that in the lower part, due to the erosion of the water of the Chakan River, a tunnel has been created, which gives it the shape of a rock castle. Also the balcony, the devil, has a triangular window of almost 2 m from side to side, resembling a room. Probably, this natural formation was an Inca shrine or huaca, to offer and worship water and the Pachamama.
