Cultural Heritage The Misminay tour takes place in one of the communities located in the heights of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, belonging to the province of Urubamba, at an altitude of 3700 m.a.s.l. It is one hour and 20 minutes from the city of Cusco. In addition, it is located a few kilometers from tourist attractions such as the Moray Terraces and the famous Maras Salt Mines. The community of Misminay “Wetlands Site” in the Quechua language, has a living culture where you can learn about the stars and the Andean worldview. Similarly, enjoy the daily activities they do such as agriculture and textiles. Interesting Facts What is its location and altitude? It is located 7 km from Maras and 50 km from Cusco; it has an altitude of 3500 m.a.s.l. Why is it called that? It is considered to have diverse origins such as: In Quechua it means, territory occupied since ancient times. It comes from the corn called “Aymoray”. For the month of planting according to the Inca calendar, which would be May. It comes from the name of the dehydrated potato “Moraya”. What is its climate? It has a dry and temperate climate, its temperature is between 21 °C during the day and 1 °C at night. When is it advisable to go? Short Description of the Misminay – Moray Tour

Unique Experience First, we will start with the pick-up from your hotel from 7:00 am to 7:30 am to move to the community of Mullakas Misminay. There we will prepare to start the very quiet walk to the Moray viewpoint. Once there we will have a small break of 20 min where we can take photos. Then we have a quiet descent to the Moray Terraces, where our guide will explain in more detail about the place. Finally, we will board our transport that will transfer us to the city of Cusco.
