DESCRIPTION
This tour is designed for those who wish to experience the Andean culture beyond the conventional tourist spots. We start with the pick-up from your hotel in Cusco to go to the community of Umasbamba, in the Chinchero area. There you will be greeted with a warm traditional welcome, music and typical dances.
In Umasbamba, you will live a participatory experience that includes:
- Elaboration of the traditional Andean Pachamanca, cooked underground.
- Weaving workshop with local women.
- Visit to farms and explanation about ancestral agricultural techniques.
- Walk with llamas in the surroundings of the community.
After lunch, we say goodbye to the community to visit three key sites in the Sacred Valley:
- The archaeological center and colonial church of Chinchero
- The enigmatic circular platforms of Moray
- The impressive salt mines of Maras, with more than 3,000 salt pools
We end the day returning to Cusco in the afternoon.

We start the experience with the pick up from your accommodation in Cusco in tourist transport.

After lunch, we thank the community and leave for the archaeological center of Chinchero.

You will visit the archaeological site and learn about its colonial church, a fusion of Inca history and Andean religious art.

We continue the tour by road until we reach the enigmatic circular platforms of Moray.

We will discover this ancient Inca agricultural experimentation center, accompanied by a guided explanation.

Visit to the Maras Salt Mines
We will walk among more than 3,000 salt pools active since pre-Inca times and learn about their traditional production process.

We end the experience by starting the trip back to the city, with an estimated arrival between 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
