DESCRIPTION
The Ausangate Trekking Tour – New Route (Full Day) is a unique alternative to get up close to one of the most majestic snow-capped mountains in Peru. We leave early from Cusco to Cusipata, where we will enjoy an Andean buffet breakfast. Then, we continue by vehicle to Ichupata, the point where we will start the walk.
The trekking is done on well-marked high mountain trails, with an approximate duration of 40 to 50 minutes. Along the way, we are surrounded by spectacular landscapes dominated by the Ausangate glacier, crystalline streams, rock formations and the constant presence of llamas and alpacas.
One of the most special moments is the visit to the beautiful Laguna Qorisoncco, with turquoise waters, accompanied by other Andean lagoons such as Pucacocha and Laguna Ausangate. From a natural viewpoint, you can appreciate an exceptional panoramic view of the massif and several surrounding lagoons that further embellish the landscape.
This hike, of moderate and accessible difficulty, is ideal for those who want an authentic experience in contact with nature, without the need to be expert hikers. All that is required is a positive attitude and willingness to walk at altitude.
After the tour, we return to Cusipata to enjoy an Andean buffet lunch, and finally we return to Cusco, concluding a day full of unforgettable landscapes, pure air and connection with the mountain.

Pick up from the hotel in Cusco
We start the day with the pick up from your accommodation in Cusco and depart in private tourist transport to the south, towards the town of Cusipata.

Buffet breakfast in Cusipata
Upon arrival in Cusipata, we will enjoy an Andean buffet breakfast, ideal to start the day with energy.

Transfer to the starting point of the trekking
After breakfast, we continue the trip by vehicle to the area of Ichupata, located on the slopes of Ausangate, where we will begin the walk.

Start of the walk towards the Ausangate
From this point we start our trekking through well-defined mountain trails. The walk lasts approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour, through impressive landscapes with direct views of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, surrounded by streams, rock formations, and the presence of llamas and alpacas.

Visit to the Qorisoncco Lagoon and natural viewpoint
During the tour, we will visit the Qorisoncco Lagoon, known for its turquoise color, as well as other smaller lagoons such as Pucacocha. From a natural viewpoint, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Ausangate mountain and the water mirrors that surround it.

You will have time to enjoy the surroundings, take pictures and rest surrounded by nature in its purest state.

Return by the same path
After the free time, we begin the return walking along the same path to the point where the transport awaits us.

Upon returning to Cusipata, we will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in a local restaurant, where typical Andean food is served. This space is ideal to relax and recharge energy after the walk, while you savor the traditional flavors of the region.
