Day 1
Cusco – Abra Pukakasa – Ananta
- Early departure from Cusco to the south of the Sacred Valley by tourist transport (approx. 3 hours).
- Observation of the Vilcanota mountain range and Andean villages along the route.
- Start of the hike with a moderate ascent to Pucacocha Lagoon (scenic lunch).
- Ascent to Pucacocha Pass (close to 5,000 m.a.s.l.), views of Ausangate and Andean camelids.
- 2-hour descent to Ananta, first campsite under the starry sky.

Ananta – Vinicunca – Cusco

Itinerary: Rainbow Mountain Trek 2D – Day 1
1. Hotel Pickup
We begin our adventure with pickup from your accommodation in Cusco to start the journey to Rainbow Mountain.
2. Trip to Quiquijana
We travel by private transport to the district of Quiquijana, enjoying the Andean landscape. (Approx. 2 hours)
3. Buffet Breakfast
Stop for a buffet breakfast at the “La Montaña” restaurant.
4. Transfer to Quesiuno
We continue to Quesiuno, the starting point of the hike. (Approx. 2 hours)
5. Hike to Paucacocha
We start the hike to the viewpoint in front of Paucacocha lagoon and Ausangate snow-capped mountain. (Approx. 1 hour 30 minutes)
6. Lunch at Paucacocha
Enjoy lunch with local products by the lagoon.
7. Hike to Ananta
We continue hiking towards Ananta, gradually gaining altitude. (Approx. 3 hours)
8. Dinner at the campsite

9. Overnight in Ananta
