DESCRIPTION

This tour is designed for those who want to explore the majestic Red Valley and the impressive Rainbow Mountain at a more comfortable schedule and with a dose of adrenaline. We start the experience by picking you up from your accommodation in Cusco, between
07:40 and 08:20 am, then head to the district of Cusipata, where you will enjoy an American breakfast at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, we continue by tourist transport for 1 more hour until we reach Japura, the base point where the ATVs are located. Here, the guide will give a brief induction and driving practice before starting the ATV route. The
1 hour and 30 minutes ride crosses impressive high Andean landscapes, passing through the Huaynalaya area until reaching Lauramani, our second base.

From this point, we will take a walk of approximately
50 minutes, crossing the striking Red Valley until reaching the natural viewpoint of Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca). The guide will explain about the place and you will have time to enjoy, take photos, and connect with this unique landscape.

Then, we return by the same ATV route to Japura. There, you will enjoy a Box Lunch, which includes a hot meal, a fruit, a cereal, and a bottle of water. We finish the tour returning to the city of Cusco, where the tour ends at approximately
8:30 pm at Plaza Regocijo.

ITINERARY

    Pick up from your accommodation

    We start the adventure by picking you up from your accommodation or a previously coordinated meeting point in Cusco.

    Trip to Cusipata 1h 30min

    We travel for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes through Andean landscapes until we reach the district of Cusipata, where we stop for breakfast.

    Enjoy a light (American) breakfast at a local restaurant.

    Transfer to Japurá

    We continue the trip for 1 more hour until we reach Japura, the base point where the ATVs are located.

    Instructions and ATV practice

    The guide will provide safety instructions on the correct use of the ATVs. You will have (10 to 15 min.) to practice and get familiar with the vehicle before starting the adventure.

    Equipment and Box Lunch delivery

    Box lunch is provided to take on the route. Helmet and gloves are also provided as part of the protective equipment.

    Start of the ATV route – Scenic route 1h 30min

    ATV ride (approx. 1h 30min) along an impressive route passing through Huaynalaya. Along the way you will see mountain landscapes and Andean wildlife such as llamas and alpacas.

    Arrival at Lauramani – View of the Red Valley

    We arrive at the second base in Lauramani, where we leave the ATVs. From this point you can appreciate the stunning beauty of the Red Valley and its intensely colored mountains.

    Hike to Rainbow Mountain 50 min

    We start the hike of approximately 50 min. with the guide through an unparalleled landscape, crossing the Red Valley until reaching the viewpoint of the famous Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca).

    Time at the summit – Explanation and photos

    The guide will give an explanation about the geology, culture, and significance of the place. You will have time to take photos, videos, and enjoy the landscape.

    Return to Lauramani and ATV ride back to Japura

    We return along the same route walking to Lauramani, where we take the ATVs again to return to Japura.

    Box Lunch type lunch

    Upon arrival at Japura or during a break on the way, you will enjoy your box lunch: hot food, fruit, cereal, and a bottle of water.

    Return to Cusco by tourist transport

    After lunch, we board the transport to return to the city of Cusco.

Spectacular tour with knowledgeable guide

The Rainbow Mountain tour was spectacular. José José, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and explained everything about the geology and local culture.
