Our first visit will be to the archaeological center of Chinchero, a traditional town known for its rich Inca and colonial history. Here we will explore its agricultural terraces, its colonial church built on Inca walls and a textile center where we will learn about the art of Andean weaving.
- Exploration of Moray
We continue to Moray, a set of circular terraces that functioned as an Inca agricultural laboratory. You will learn how the Incas took advantage of microclimates to experiment with crops.
- Walk through the Maras Salt Mines
Very close by, we arrive at the Maras Salt Mines, more than 3,000 salt pools located on the mountainside. You will see how salt continues to be extracted traditionally since pre-Inca times.
